Thankful and Hopeful ….. Thanksgiving 2014

Thankful and Hopeful ….. Thanksgiving 2014

I am blessed with family and friends. Life gets busy and I can get lost in the schedule, in the tasks to be done and all the “important things.” Family and friends have been put on the back burner. The holidays can be another day on the calendar or we can choose to make them a day where we stop, pause and connect with our families and friends. Thanksgiving is next week. I want to pause and reflect on what and why I am thankful for in the friends and family God has blessed me with and what I am looking forward to this Thanksgiving.

Thanking Jesus today for my family and friends…..

  • Loving me for who I am
  • The ability to live life with them
  • Grace to grow
  • Grace to be authentic
  • That we laugh and cry together
  • Unconditional Love
  • Real with each other

Thanking Jesus today for what they have taught and given me…..

  • Prayer
  • Traditions
  • Challenged to grow
  • Perseverance
  • Influencing who I am
  • Opportunities to become more like Jesus

Thanking Jesus today that they walk along side us in …..

  • Encouragement
  • Sorrow
  • Joy
  • Happiness
  • Support
  • Celebration
  • Tragedy

Family and friends makes my life richer. My life has deeper meaning. I have experienced grace and forgiveness in profound ways through the family and friends God has given me.

This Thanksgiving I am looking forward too…..

Spending time with my family (my husband and the boys will be there)

Talking and interacting with my siblings, parents, nieces, nephews

Making silly faces to my youngest nephews and niece

Shopping with my mom and sister

Eating Food…..there will be plenty of good food

Hearing about what God is up to in the lives of everyone

Playing board games

Pie! (pecan, pumpkin, cherry ….maybe even a chocolate chip one in there)

Reflecting on what I am thankful for

I don’t know what this Thanksgiving holiday will bring. My hopes are listed above, God knows what it will actually look like. One thing I am sure about – He is good, He loves me, He loves each of us, and if I keep my eye on Him no matter the emotion it will be a joyful occasion. I have much to be thankful for. A time to stop and county my blessings, they are vast.

What are your hopes, what are you looking forward to for Thanksgiving 2014?
What is one thing you are thankful for when it comes to your family and friends?

Share your thoughts and hopes in the comments below, on social media or in an email, would love to hear your thoughts!

Today…..learning to follow, listen and obey; trusting in the ONE who loves me and HE loves you too.
